Uniform and non-uniform DIF
DIF has been conceptually divided into two separate categories, called uniform and non-uniform DIF. These categories are equivalent to the concepts in epidemiology of confounding and effect modification, respectively. The educational psychology literature has progressed without acknowledgement of this parallel.
Much of the thinking in the last several decades on confounding has influenced the analyses we highlight with this package.
