Pentara is currently involved in efforts to create a composite score from existing items (NTB, CDR, MMSE, etc.) in order to improve the sensitivity to change. The goal of our analyses is to identify a composite (combination of scales and sub-scales) that is more sensitive than each existing test alone, in terms of having the largest mean-to-standard-deviation ratio for change in composite score from baseline in individuals with MCI. While the MCI population is of most interest, composites derived using different populations and applied to different populations are also investigated. One of our analyses compares people with normal cognition that convert to MCI vs. those who do not convert. Corrections for normal aging and other baseline characteristics are also included in our models.
